I have an idea for a launch strategy and wanted to open it up for discussion. I just launched an outdoor product and sent in my first shipment to FBA but I also have reserve stock on hand.
I thought about temporarily changing fulfillment to Merchant and reducing the price by about 90%. Then I would post on my local community Facebook pages advertising them. In total, I would sell 25 or less.
The local buyer from the Facebook page can pick up from me or I'll ship it but they MUST still do the purchase on Amazon. The thought is, I can talk to them in person, explain it's a new product and hopefully get a review.
My questions are:
-Does Amazon require shipping confirmation for Merchant fulfilled orders?
-Has anyone tried a similar tactic?
-Will these reviews still have weight when I raise my product price back up in a couple days?
