For those of you sourcing from China, keep an eye on the currency rate. If you were buying at a constant dollar price for your product last year, and that product is still at the same price, you can try negotiating for a better price. The strong dollar means that you should be getting more product for the same amount of dollars as compared to last year. (The Yuan has weakened almost 10% since last year).
If you do want to negotiate, be sure to have a backup supplier if possible, and make sure you take time to negotiate. Some suppliers will flat out deny or give excuses, but if you keep bringing it up on each shipment you buy from them you may get a few percentage points of cost savings eventually. NOTE: Also depends on how much business you are doing to determine if it's worth the hassle, but something to consider.
Best of luck to you!
